Picking up with the final chapters of Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Darcy Vampyre begins with the marriage of Elizabeth and Darcy, and it continues with their wedding tour. Unfortunately, married life isn't what either of them expect as their journey is fraught with vicious mobs, hijacked coaches, and perilous quests. There is a dark secret lurking behind the esteemed name of Darcy, one that could destroy them both if it is revealed.
I went into this book prepared for a questionable reading experience- the whole turning classic literature into vampires and zombies really isn't my cup of tea- but I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself looking forward to my next free moment so I could continue Darcy and Elizabeth's story. There were many references to previous encounters between these two in Jane Austen's original work, and it was at these tender moments of reminiscing I often smiled or gave a soft chuckle.
Overall this was a very easy read with enough unexpected moments to prolong the readers interest. If you are wary of classics turned vampire, but still want to give the genre a try, I would recommend this novel based on the fact that the book isn't over the top, and the characters are not unrecognizable.

I liked this book as well although it was "different" from someone who loves P&P and good books continuing the story. It wasn't as implausible as I thought it would be!
I too am not a fan of mashing horror and classics, so this one is not high on my wishlist, although it sounds intriguing. I love vampires, so I might give it a try.
Sounds a great book, I'd added to my TBR, hope can read it soon :)
